I just started my blog (see under my name). Now I want to know, is it good to make a lot of posts on the same day? I just started it so I'm coming across a lot of things I want to post. By now I've just made myself a list in notepad, and decided to make max.3 posts/day. So, how good is it to make a lot of posts? Should I keep posting? How many posts/day is 'best' ?
Personally I find a post every 2 days to be about right for my type of blogs. There's nothing wrong with more, but you must ensure that they are interesting and of high quality ... many low quality posts in a day will achieve very little.
Blogs that are frequently updated tend to rank well in Google. You can make as many posts in one day, just as long as you do not skip a day. Depending on your blog platform, you can schedule to publish a post at a future date and time. This method may help you spread out your posts, in case you think you are overdosing your audience. Best Wishes!
hmm, haven't thought of that... Going to check if wordpress can do that (probably), scheduled publishments.
It really depends on your approach, but for real handwritten blogs, quality is king. So, if you plan to build a real reader base, 1 excellent post a week will make you more successful than boring stuff every day. If you are going for a more splog-like approach, go ahead and post as much as you can...this way initially get more traffic, but not many returning visitors.
Great that you started a new blog! I always become enthusiastic about new blogs, and it seems that the resources and things to talk about never end in the beginning. However - and maybe this is just me - but I've learned that I tend to burn out about every three months for a week or two. That's when it's a good time to have blog posts in reserve so I can take a break. Just a suggestion - if you're enthusiastic now and if the blog entry isn't time sensitive, then save it for times when you don't or can't upload an entry. Good luck!
I want a blog that people read, that gets a lot of hits, gets a lot of uniques, and thus makes me some money. I need to earn money before I can invest it.
Content is king. Whatever the number of posts you wish to make, make sure you pick up a frequency and persist with it without fail. Which means you can do 2 posts daily or 1 post in two days, whatever the frequency you pick, don't let the rate fall down. Be consistent.
I think there's no problem with posting as many as you can as long as the topic has relevancy and the information that you've posted are all useful.
In the begining it doesn't matter so much, but if you have subscribers and you post five times in one day they may get annoyed and unsubscribe. I'd write as much as you want, but save some of the posts and aim for one a day, or around that. Once you have 30 or so posts you can slow down if you need to.
I'm not promoting Darren's problogger blog - but this guy has tons of some really useful tips and you might found the answers to some of your questions there too. That's how I learn about blogging couple of years ago. Posting regularly is better than posting too many posts - as your readers sometimes couldn't catch up with you. It's also tend to be difficult to follow in the later stage of your blogging career. How many is too many? that's pretty subjective - obviously everyone agrees that if you post more than say 50 posts per day - that's far more than enough. Techcrunch has fresh posts something like more than 10 daily.
I understand that as a new blogger you may have tons of ideas or even preexisting content that you might excitedly deem quality. Maybe they are! I dont see anything wrong with super-launching a blog with tons of posts per day inherantly, just as long as you maintain quality and consistency. Try and wait on posting some of those second and third per day posts. You may need them 3 months from now when blogging sounds like a pain because you've gotten burnt out. Also, I have a lst of 89 places to promote your blog/rss feed. Unable to post links currently, but do a search for that phrase Cheers!
