So I have a web app (php script) company. I want to increase the traffic that the site is getting, so I thought I would start writing articles related to the products that I sell on a blog. A couple question, Should I use some sort of article submission software to submit the articles that I write to multiple article websites, like ezine etc? Or is that spammy? Should I just post articles that I write on my own blog, to keep the content ultra unique? I guess essentially, What is the best way to leverage traffic out of the articles that I write? Thanks!
I think the best way to get a ton of visitors is to have unique content that people like that is pro written. I know a website that can do this for you at a reasonable rate and I can also recommend to you that ezine articles are very good for your website, always submit articles to them. They give you backlinks and people look at those articles a lot and then end up going to your site. I wouldnt use article submission software because it is spammy and depending on the software.
You want 100% unique content on your site. For article writing, write short related articles and have them link back. There are good article spinners out there that you can use if you want to submit fairly unique content to lots of article directories. But really, just pick 2-4 of the biggest article directories like Ezinearticles and focus on submitting to them. The bigger reputable directories will give you more benefit for your articles.
Do you happen to have a list of the biggest, most reputable directories? I am only aware of ezine, thanks!
write intersting article it will really help put links inside the article and submit it to higher PR article directory
Keep the articles for your own site. Use them for SEO but also to show you really know PHP. Make them a blend of sales-type pieces and how-tos or commentary on using PHP. Skip the generic article sites and try to get noticed on the webmaster-related social sites like DZone.
How many people who read ezinearticles do you think are looking for a php script? I don't think you want to go the normal article route if you are trying to get traffic to a specialized site like that. You may do better to post in you sig file in a php related forum or maybe do guest posting on a niche site who attracts a more targeted visitor to your offer.
Firstly you need to work out how best to approach article marketing. There's a good way and a bad way. Think quality. You need to get your articles picked up by other sites that want to reprint them. No one visits article directories to read articles. Yes, they might find them via SERPs but what you really want is other websites picking up your article and the associated bio with your link. That gets you traffic and backlinks at the same time. I wrote an article a while back called Getting Started with an Effective Article Marketing Strategy for those just thinking about how to go about it.
Hi.. I'm doing both so that might work for you. First I'm placing the article on my site and getting some nice google hits. But I then rewrite them.. new title and nice new format... and place those onto two different article directories. I'm liking the results so far... I also agree with Peejaydee ( nice name! ) that you need to plan.. it's the key to success as well as time management. Oh and you can also try guest posting on other blogs.. that works nicely if you find an amazing site with high PR... Good luck!
I agree with Terry. PHP scripting is a pretty specialized area, and unless the articles could get interest from the general public, it might be better to get the word out on a technology forum, in a tech magazine or on sites that people who would USE php apps visit. Some tech mags will trade a free ad if you write content for them, which is a nice tradeoff: you get to write AND get an ad. I did this once for an app that I marketed: got expert interviews on the technology, then got free ads that landed on a target page (it was an online mag). Dani
