I'm going out on a limb here; I predict that, in the not-so-distant future, people will be buying and selling lenses like they do domain names. Advice: Snag one-word, and heavy keyword lenses while the site is still new! Just my opinion
Squidoo is yet another way to get a good exposure on the net, but I am not so sure that it will become an action arena. Just my thoughts.
I always thought of Squidoo as a great way to get backlinks to your site, but never thought of that whole buying and selling lense names. Nice thinking.
Very good idea. And Squidoo does more than get backlinks to my site. It's also a great way to attain top 10 rankings in the search engines (with your lenses) for competitive keywords.
It's not the next big thing, it's happening right now. People are already buying and selling lenses. I sold www.squidoo.com/agloco for US$20.
Squidoo truly is amazing! One of my affiliates created http://www.squidoo.com/feminizationhypnosis and has made sales and got an impressive position in google for the products keyword - currently at position #9!
I don't think people should start registering names willy nilly just to park them. If I remember correctly, I think Squidoo is cracking down on this. If you develop them, you're cool, but if you're just going to let them sit there, not so much.
I don't think it is the next big thing either, I do think it is great for another link and to move your lense up in the search rankings to get more traffic. People have been selling domain names, websites so selling lenses seems the same to me.
Yes, that's correct. I should add that my agloco one was published with content and turning up on the front page of Google for a search for 'agloco' quite constantly. So it was much improved.
Squidoo is great...But, not the next big thing I don't think. Squdioo is just "bells and whistles" not the core. I don't think there's been any next big thing since email lists.
