Thanks for the information. I bookmarked this page and will be coming back to it as I do my site overhaul.
Yes, traffic is of course the major benefactor in getting clicks, but it helps to be highly targeted with good epc and click conversion. I use to have a high traffic blog, dedicated to a game I used to play. I had the Google ads listed very high up, noticeable, and without border to make them look like regular links. My click conversion & earnings per click (epc) was very poor compared to the amount of traffic I received. I recently let that site go and entered the shopping arena a couple of months ago (certain tactics to get good traffic is required here) I am enjoying very good conversions, sometimes as high as 31% In the last 7 days I have been tracking 7 sites I have listed via the content channels and my lowest conversion is at 6%, which is still very good. 3 examples as follows, 7 day tracking: Site 1: 1085 impressions / 200 clicks / 18.43% click conversion / $37.21 ePCM / $40.38 earnings Site 2: 345 impressions / 108 clicks / 31.30% conversion / $55.38 ePCM / $19.10 earnings Site 3: 411 impressions / 60 clicks / 14.60% conversion / $32.76 ePCM / $13.46 earnings It shows it is possible to do and that really high traffic is not needed, it all depends on your site content compared to the competition in Adwords and the ad copy of other sites that are advertised on your site. I agree, borderless ads do serve better CTR% I generally serve ads on a white background & high up in the pages, at least the very top. Borderless, blue title link (#0000FF) with black ad-copy & grey URL (#666666). 250x300 or 336x280 ads with text wrap work for me very well. Hope that helps Terry
I can not seem to find an address for CPX. What is their site address. I like the idea of 2 different types of ads on the site.
Great Post. Any comments on image ads vs. text ads? I am trying to work out which one is better for my site. Thanks Again!
Wow is that all from one site?? Way to go! I wish I had those results, how long have you been running the site for??
Thanks so much, i changed my ads placement 4,5 times. And it seems work better now, I have 4 clicks instead 0 click like before. I think to have a better result, we shouldn't be afraid of change!
