    Hello Webmasters,

Just wanted to share with you something from my experience and give few free tips.
One of the biggest problems for a newbie webmaster is getting links and it can be really difficult at first, because no one wants to exchange links with a new PR0 site. So I'll to give you few tips how to make that process much easier and more successful.
I have few well established sites and even though I don't update them much, I frequently receive emails from other webmasters offering a link exchange. What do they look like?
A typical email looks something like this (google and MSN are used to illustrate the point better and just for fun :) ):
While this may seem like a regular link exchange email and may be even a good one, in fact it's really a very bad one.
I'm receiveing few such emails every week, so i'm used to it and if the site has some good content and nice layout, I usually link to it, but most other webmasters don't.
So what's so bad in it?
    Almost everything, in fact.
    1. If you are offering a link exchange, first provide a link to your potential link partner and only then ask for a link back.
    2. Provide full details for your link, save your link partner's time and don't make him think about the title and description for your link. Give him a code to insert in his site, which suits his site's linking structure. It may be just a link, or a link with keyword rich title, or a link with title and description etc.
    3. You can get very good results if you say few good words about your partner's site :)

So, how would a perfect link exchange email look like?
When I set up a new site, I usually add few links pages, add all their links and then send out emails to all the link partners and it works like magic! Almost all of them link back to my site within a day or two.
So if you are doing it right, it's actually that easy (unless you're really sending that email to google of course ;) )

hope it helps :) , Michael

I totally agree. I pretty much just delete the random link request mails I receive because of this.

People who send these link requests to my inbox want something from me, right? Now let’s just assume I’ve received the request because my site has a respectable PR, and is highly ranked in my niche. So if you want me to do you (some random person) a favor, please don’t make me have to work really hard to do it.

If a link was placed first, then the email sent, I’d actually take a look at your site and seriously consider it because some common courtesy was used.

For example, i consider all such e-mails as spam, and they are auto-moved to my spam folder.

From my experience, 95% of all the others who receive such e-mails, act the same way.

Your example with Msn and Google is indeed very nice, but the reality is that all the e-mails like the above example, come from online casinos, or similar. :)

Anyway, you shared important info. Thank you for that :)
