    Do you all think it's good that I use blue links with a white background in the left margin on my site? or do you think I should use a black background to make it blend....? :confused:

    Because they don't look as nice. When I first built a site with adsense, I made that mistake too. Try to make it as pretty as possible.

    The problem is that if it blends in too much people might ignore your ads or not understand what they are. The bright blue is both eye-catching and recognizable - so more people are going to click on it. You need to manage a balance between eye-popping and obvious ads and blending with your site.

    As for naming your channels, I can't agree with you more. Each position that you put an ad should have it's own name. It's the only way you can track which ads are pulling their weight, and which aren't... and then try something new to see if you get an improvement.

    Otherwise you'll be changing things and just swinging in the dark.

    The blue color is actually true, blue is more attractive. I`ve been using it for a while now and It does give better results than other colors.

    Blue links always are the best. Most everyone knows a blue link is a new link or website so they know you can click it. I never understoood why people changed colors on links or ads it does not help most of the time.

    Nice simpe adsense tricks and tips that all work to increase your earnings.

    You have to assume that most of the visitors you are going to get are not nearly as web savvy as anyone here at DP. The average surfer has been trained that blue underlined text means a clickable link.

    good information on add placements.
    i think if we blend blue links with White Background then only it works,
    otherwise its not useful.

    for blogs this theme from Dosh Dosh which Prosense is wonderful.

    No problems
    Don't know how to put them on blogger beta, but here's the code I use(d) in my site: (wordpress php you know - single.php, for index.php you need to create a PHP counter to make sure you don't display more ad units than is allowed)

    <div style='float: left; padding-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;'>

    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    // your ADSENSE CODE goes here....
    ....http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    </div>

    <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry &raquo;'); ?>

    Code (markup):
    Yeh. I've tested red links for some time... but they just aren't as good.

    Depends on website... white back + blue links is generally speaking good.

    Yeh, good points. The blue links don't look as good... so depending on your audience you might want to use something different (I'm currently using red since I have audience that

    I had blue links but since adsense isn't the main income (I have direct advertisers, membership stuff and whatnot) the blue links didn't look so good. I switched to red, perhaps I switch back to blue again when some direct deals are over.

    Cheers.

    I use light blue ads on my site cuz it looks pretty. :D Nice tips.

    How do you figure out what kind of ads to show to your users? I have no idea what my users like. If my site was a restaurant review site it would be easy, but my site is a torrent meta search site. :confused:

    Shit happens ;)

    Thanks - like said earlier... not much of research, more like "try & fail, try again and fail more and try again and share..."

    Well, to be honest - torrent meta search site might be tricky. I suppose you *could* have game ads on those pages where you are listing games.

    Rest of it... I'd try doing a search on these forums and see what others have done.

    You could consider some affiliate program, such as pnp.bigfishgames.com to sell games... or something like www.movaya.com - they offer mobile phone games for webmasters to sell.
