Some Adbrite thoughts..

Well I decided a few days back that I would run an Adbrite campaign for my small hosting company. I don't mind high cpc if I get something for my money, but since I haven't done any campaigns what so ever in this niche before, it's trial and error to say the least.

I created a couple of banners in different sizes, and a few text ads with (in my opinion) good title's and descriptions. I set the banner campaign max cpc to $0.20 and daily budget of $20, and the text ad max cpc to $0.10 and max daily budget to $20 also. Some days later, these are my results:

banner campain, 472 clicks, 769.000 impressions, $82.98 spent.
text ad campain, 0 clicks, 32.941 impressions, $0 spent.

Those 472 clicks gave me an average of 1.1 page views per visit, 0 sales.

I have now paused the banner campaign since it's not working for me, and raised the max cpc and daily budget of the text ad campaign, hoping that the text ads will produce something.

However, my conclusion so far is that the only sites out there that use Adbrite are sites that are rejected by any other ad program, and that the quality of the traffic on those sites are so low that they won't even accept free stuff if it's handed to them.

    Agree?

No doubt.. but "web hosting" is really tough competetion.. I did keyword research for two hours yesterday, thinking I've come up with some low competition high search phrases to target, and the traffic tool told me I could expect 24-27 clicks on a daily budget of $275.

Any other tips? I'm gonna search around a little.. there's gotta be other banner/text ad networks with better traffic..

Adbrite can be good if you are an advertiser. Definitely not good for publishers...

I thinks banner ads on adbrite are waste of money. You don't get kind of traffic that will convert. I had better luck with text ads using Adbrite.

    Yeah it seems so.
I almost started thinking I should advertise something else, but it's just silly to adjust what you advertise to what the audience wants. Atleast now I know which ppc network to use if I ever start Warez-sites.

    Anyway thanks.

I've had similar results for my AdWords campaigns. Not sure there is a whole lot of difference here.

I have tried both text and banner several times, and not a single sale. Their traffic quality is too poor. I love seeing a weight loss product on an anime porn site.
