Sold a website..

Welcome and thanks for opening this topic.

I recently sold a forum on this website, to a user who bought a site from me before. Now I acted way to fast and pushed the domain to the user.

The issue here is that the payment was canceled by the payment sender. Now mister X claims he sent the money and I claim the payment is Canceled.

I phoned paypal about this and they agreed with me. The payment was Canceled and the sender should have his money back.

Now the mister x still claims he sent the money and says that the money isnt on his account anymore.

I do really want to trust the buyer but everything leads to a scam here. He do seems like an honest person and his iTrade is above 40+ and no negative comments.

What would you do? And did you ever experienced this kind of problam with paypal before? ( I have alot of experience with paypal but never seen this before)

Believe it/ Not to believe it

    thanks for reading

I ve experienced three problems with transactions on paypal up to now, however all of them was me buying the items, and it was the seller that did me in.
The first thing i did was reported him, if you havnt already done so, do this, they can usually retrieve the money in 14 days. I got a small sum of money on my last report, due to the person i bought the goods of, moved as much money as he could out of his account.

I feel sorry for you, its annoying when this happens, is there no way you can get your site back?

    Will.

My gut feeling is that he's scamming you (probably just because he noticed you already sent him control over the domain and there wasn't much for you to do).
But I am quite surprised that it is a member with 40+ iTrader.

Thanks for the replies.. but before I start reporting I have to be sure. There is still a chance things get solved. But by the looks of it it's goin to take a while. I can't deny that it could be a scam but 40+ positive feedbacks? and the guy is still contacting me on a daily base.

Strange situation.. since im formilair with sorts of paypal issued but never heard of this sorta problam. "Payment cancelled by the sender"

Not sure what to do here.. I guess time wil tell

Just because a member have a high itrader, doesn't mean he is trustworthy. Some of the itrades can be from faked accounts or for "freebies". You should look at the quality of the itrades. A member with 20 itrades for high quality/priced dealings should be considered more trustworthy than a member with 50 itrades majority from low-priced deals. By reading your "past posts" in your profile I believe I may know who is the member you are talking about. If paypal says the member canceled the payment then they have, paypal is a multi-million dollar company with every detail about each paypal account. Just because the member is contacting you daily doesn't mean a thing, scammers do that all the time. (not saying he is one)

Ok here are some more facts.

    - He did cancelled the payment so the guy is a scammer

His account got checked and the money was cancelled and the money was there.

    - The paypal account is not stolen. Has been checked.

    In good english he said:
    More related pm's I got:
He thought about it very well. I do think that at first he wasn't planning to scam me. Then he released 2000 is alot of money and cancelled the payment. Then made up a nice story and so he had time to do a test drive on the forum I sold him. Maybe to see if it does make money.

I do still believe he has the intention to still sent the money but after a good test drive to see if it's worth it.

Im hoping to get my domain back soon and solve this case. Then I wil leave a big FAT negative feedback so everyone knows not to do business with this guy.

Now to consider was it all worth it? days of trouble for a few hundreds of dollars. Nah

You should ask him to give you a screenshot ! To prove you that the money after cancellation is not in his account.

Payment once sent can not be canceled from sender.this is paypal law.
Maybe buyer has sent the money using echeck. paypal customer care will help you out if you contact them at resolution centre.

A payment can be cancelled so did the paypal customer care say. And they clearly stated that he cancelled the payment.

And the money is back in his account. Even if he did not cancelled the payment he is still lieing about not having the money

I took this a few steps further. I will be alot better off then him.

    :D

The domain is now officially stolen by the user
    kimm3

I have proven him many times that I did not get any money for the domain! But he is not giving the domain back.
A domain I had for more then 4 years just got taken away by some idiot.

My advice to you! Never push over a domain before you are sure of the payment, Most of you will say duh. And your right I made a huge stupid mistake on this one.

He actually scammed me big time and still denies it and even left e negative comment on my iTrader thats pushing it to far.

Most of his itrader came from his link sales.. so it really gives little information about how reliable of a buyer he is.

That's horrible. It makes me kinda scarred to continue selling my domain names here on DP.. I have not had any problems yet and hope to not have any in the future.

When should we transfer the paid for property? (If paid for). The same day payment is received, two days later, a week? Or just untill PayPal says the payment is completed?

BTW: Thanks for the warning I surly will be avoiding this member.
