I'm going to sell my website to this person but is it okay for him to apply for an adsense account while my ads still on the site?

I don't think there would be that big a problem - just the Adsense guys might just get a laugh out of the new guy, as he'll look like a tit applying for Adsense with live ads on his site...

Yes, just lets hope he doesn't do anything to violate the terms of service and get you banned. I would remove the ads, or atleast remove the site from "allowed sites" to keep the format of the page alive.

How much do you earn form the site? How much are you selling it for?

I would say remove your ads first. Google approves fast so your site will be without ads for a minimal time during the transition.

Bottom line: You don't want your ads on a site that you don't have any control over. What if they throw up some content that's against TOS and you get banned? No fun.
    I'd get them off ASAP.

What about DP? It has many members' adsense accounts on it, through the revenue sharing thing.

They don't display more then 1 publishers ad at once. It's okay if all the ads on the page are from a publisher and then when you refresh the page it changes to another publishers ads. However you can't have two ads from two different publishers on the same page. So for example Shaun couldn't show his adsense ads on the same page as other members ads.

It's not mandatory that a website should have no adsense codes when a fresh publisher account is applied. You should take your codes off as it is no more your website. A website can have multiple publishers but can't be rolled over one page.

Agreed with a lot of the posts above. It may or may not affect your account with him signing up. But, that google policy is a lengthy document, and even the best readers are liable to miss a few sentences. Take them off to be on the safe side. It'll only take him about 5 minutes to stick his own codes in where yours previously were.

Why would he want to apply while still displaying your ads? I say take them down. You can not display two publishers on the same page at the same time without special permission and in the eyes of Google that may be what he is trying to do. They may also think you are trying to apply for a second account under another name and it may cause problems for your account.

I would not risk it, take your id out before selling the site.
