No problem Yes I have a few ideas. PPC Craigslist Florida Theres an ad there now looking for you!!! http://orlando.craigslist.org/cpg/ http://orlando.craigslist.org/eng/ basically check under jobs & gigs sections. Craigslist Anywhere Web Design can be done for anyone anywhere Odesk RentACoder Scriptlance For your business organic results are probably not the place to be..... Consumers who search free results are often looking for free information....they are not in the state of mind to make a purchase... PPC, answering Ads on craigslist, and Freelance sites, are full of people who are actively looking for your services!!
You seem to miss the fact that for Google the organic SERPs are an expense. You don't pay to be there, you don't pitch in for hosting expense, nor do you send them 1 cent for their employee expense, or taxes from their business operations for organic listings..... Google maintains this expense.... so that they have inventory to display their paid ads...... Very simple really...... No free lunch!!!!
The biggest "quirk" i hate with Google is you search "XYZ" today and find an awesome site. Tomorrow you search the same thing to send the info to a friend, you can't find it, he can't find it the thing is freakin gone! Another tweak? Webmaster penalized because he bought a link despite having the best info? Hitting another DC because the wind direction changed? Who knows, but Google's motto should be... "Bookmark it, because it won't be there tomorrow".
It's not an easy task to get good ranking in google, as the competition is getting tougher every seconds.
don't worry, as soon as someone makes a better search engine, Google will lose its top position......
Thank you for your advice. I have tried craigslist and have learned to stay away. The people that go there looking for websites are 1. people are looking for pro bono or some college kid to do the job next to nothing. 2. Getting flagged by the competition is always my favorite. I could start a new thread about craigslist. I don't know anymore... Maybe I should have stuck with being a carpenter... At least I know that when I drive a nail into a piece of wood, that nail will stay in the exact spot I placed it at until I remove it. Not just fall out and hit the ground like google drops sites... How about a link exchange program. Or maybe a blog?
Hello... I think both sides (i hate/ I luv) are correct... Most of these concerns surrounding webmasters rankings effect there earnings (what they may have made in the past and what they make Now) and most wouldn't care and would use adwords or other paying methods to drive traffic if they could afford to do so, and then frustration sets in when we see our sites vanish from the rankings. Most wouldn't complain but hard with economy the way it is and other bills coming from everywhere @BoomBoom Dont feel bad man, i know where you come from (carpenter) as i gave up (construction, working in 117 degree AZ weather) to work online a few years back so as better myself and family and was doing great, then a few years later google started dictating how to do this and that (changing the rules of the game) then the economy fagged out and now left trying to pick up the shattered pieces and hard work and investments... Try to be patient as it will take a few more months before things get back to normal. (Just never Give up and diversify and change strategy if possible!) thx malcolm
I have blogs to help with traffic, but cant seem to get people to participate with comments. Anybody want to help with a comment exchange or two?
Jim I agree I also like Google, I have changed my website more than my wife buys shoes and I have never noticed a drop in my ranking
"I wish we could all boycott GOOGLE and stick it to the man" Everybody do it and the man will start behaving like GOOGLE, that is how things work in this big bad world
Ok, I have to admit that I do use google for pretty much everything... I use it to query on spelling, research and analytics as well as webmaster tools. 90% of everything I have learned website related I have learned from the internet through google. So in short, I do appreciate it for that...
