How would I go about completing a video tutorial for engineering software program (to provide step by step instructions)? Are there any Open Source programs that I could use for actual recording, editing, text overlays, compression, etc.? Thanks!

I just downloaded Camstudio. Will give that a try. Camstudio - cost 299.00 - that's a little more than I would like to pay. The open source should work for what I would like to accomplish. Has anybody tried both of these programs and if so is there a significant difference in quality with the paid application? I would be using the application to post Autodesk Civil 3D tutorials on a website. Thanks again for all of your help!!
There is always other choice: VZOchat 6.3.1.7674 (it is free) - http://download.cnet.com/VZOchat/3000-2348_4-10841384.html WebcamMax 5.1.2.2 ($19.95) - http://download.cnet.com/WebcamMax/3000-2150_4-10562121.html Hopeit helps.
Hi,spitflies Do you mean a screen capture software, if so, I recommend Webcam Capture Studio to you. I am very familiar with this software. Because I have been used it for capturing screen and record videos. This software has no ads, no trojans and no toolbars. I use it like a charm. You can download it from its sites: http://www.webcam-recording-software.com
