    Anyone know of software that will let me manage (add/remove, change bids, etc) overture, msn and google adwords from a desktop application?

    Apex software has bidmaximizer. That's the only one I know of and you need different installs to manage overture/adwords.

    Bidrank does this ..
    you may also consider some other hosted solutions which may prove their worth like AtlasOnepoint / BidROI ( Good One ) ..

    I was not aware of any software you buy and own that will manipulate your bids. All of the companies I have sought out want you to pay monthly and the software is controlled by their server.

    That being said, I just tried Keyword Max, agreed to the high price, $200 per month. But, if I could go on vacation and live like a human being, without constantly checking my bids it would be worth it. I Cancelled within one week.

    After 5 days and interfacing with their tech's, we were unable to get the software to work. Here is what happened;

    1) Their server would only upload, 120,000 of my current 400,000 keywords.

    2) Only some of my bids changed properly, 50% of them were reversed to 10 cent bids.

    3) They have no gappage control, either you are a penny below or a penny above.

    So, if I chose to be a penny below, which stops advertisers from jumping over me, this is what could happen.

    Advertiser B) 9.99
    My Firm) 9.98
    Advertiser C) 0.10

    As we all know Advertiser C, could jump behind me at any time and drain my budget.

    I ended up going with BidRank for this. I've used their software for Overture in the past and it was pretty good--and the price is a lot more reasonable than a lot of what I've seen.

    Toonces51,

    The Bidrank service you have, can you;

    Bid by catagory.
    Dictate how often it checks your bids.
    Controll how close to the top competitor, Example;

    Top Bid: $3.10
    My Bid: $0.85
    Third Bid: 0.10

    How much has it been costing and/or how is the program billed.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    jcfinc - I'm not really sure on the category question, but you can set up categories in BidRank, and assuming you have budgets set up by categories (at least in Google), it should work, I think. You definitely can dictate how often it checks, and can even do dayparting (checking bids during the day, back of at night, etc). You can do gap surfing too, based on bidding right above the bid below or bidding right below the bid above.

    There are different price levels based on campaign size, and monthly or yearly rates. No added cost for clicks, as the conversion aspect isn't a part of BidRank.

    What ever software you use you must still monitor activity very closely.
