Hi, I wonder is there an app or any software supposed to assist me with writing? I'm a high school student and I prepare to enter the college, so obtaining a writing mastery is a must for me. I know there are many tech experts who'll recommend something good for me.

I use Grammarly, but there are other similar tools. You may benefit from the extra insight that their paid version provides.

Yes, I agree Grammarly is good, even the free version, if you write all the content yourself you needn't worry about plagiarism (that is unless someone has stolen it) but if you do it is worth investing in their paid option as well.

@Platokart probably has English as her 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) language so I was wondering if the paid version provided more support for ESL users. But you're right about the free version, I'm appalled at how often it corrects my grammar and how often I agree with it, not that I rate myself highly but age and being native speaking one expects to be able to write well. The times I disagree with Grammarly are usually when I'm using jargon or a word is being used as a brand name and therefore it gets used in a way that breaks the normal rules.

I don't use Grammarly, but MS Word also checks grammar automatically. I occasionally disagree with its suggestions and it usually comes up in cases where there can be two correct usages and it happens to choose one of them. I also am fiercely against Word's belief that you only space once after a period at the end of a sentence. I strongly prefer two spaces and grammar rules allow either.
