Software to edit audio in an avi or any kind of video file

    Im looking for some kind of software that can improve the audio of a video file.

    All the software that I have does not allow to edit the audio in a video file but I need it because all my guitar recordings made by my cam the sound is not like it should be..ok ok Im no Steve Vai but In not that bad too :).

    Please some help!!

    I use Premiere Pro for video editing and it allows for audio editing. One other thing you can do is to capture the audio from the video file, then edit it using other audio editing tool like Mixcraft or Audition. After editing, just put back the audio to the video and render.

    You can demux the audio using VirtualDub (or VirtualDub MOD depending on your source file).
    Then edit it using a decent audio editor - Audactity is good enough, and it's free.
    Then import the audio back in using VirtualDub.

    Best thing to do would be to record your guitar straight into the computer (out of a POD, decent mic, DI box etc) at the same time that you're making the video. Then you'll have a nice clean recording that you can sync with the video.

    There's a lot of software which is much easier to use (not necessarily more powerful though).. but it all costs silly money.

    Could have gone in the multimedia section. But it doesn't really matter. Guitars and video cameras are hardware :)
