Hi, There is all this software out there which one can install to keep track of what adsense ad on what page was clicked. This would give much better stats that those provided by Google. Though I have never heard of anyone being kicked out of AdSense for using such software, I do wonder whether there are any TOS kind of issues associated with this. So, is the use of AdSense click trackers completely above board, or is this something that one does on the sly? Thanks Ajeet
I dont know about these scripts, But I assume they must be client-side.. so visible if google were to view the page source, as long as you dont edit the google code (other than the color things you are alowed to edit), all should be OK.. right?
Try www.asrep.com I haven't able to test it. But looks like everyone in this forum agrees to the usability of this script.
No, there are no TOS issues with these programs if they don't edit the adsense code (which none of the ones I've tested do). Most of them have you put some javascript under the Adsense code... but there is nothing wrong with that. Also, I don't consider it overboard to use these programs because one things everyone should be doing is TESTING. If you're not testing your adsense ads frequently, you're costing yourself money...
What everyone else is saying is true, you can use them as long as they don't edit the code. I used the evaluation version of asrep. It was ok, I guess if I had the full version you get alot more statistics and then you could really optimize. I decided against buying the full version as on all but one of my sites I have an excellent click through rate but not much traffic. I will probably buy it when I have more traffic so I can really start to see who clicks what. I don't think it is overboard at all. If you are stuggling with Adsense these tools will help you get more, the tell you alot. If a page isn't performing as well, change it and track that page. Try it.
As far as I know there is no script that tells which specific url was clicked. I dou't thnk you will get kicked out for it as long as you don't violate the TOS and tracking clicks isn't a violation.
