So, I'm really looking at building a few niche related sites to try and get some extra income. My biggest problem is, that whilst I am good with computers and can use most programs rather well, I cannot code. Are there any good pieces of software for creating websites where you can do it all visually? Kind of like the old Frontpage but something that looks relatively professional and worthy to be on the world wide web? Any thoughts much appreciated, Ricky
I didn't think dreamweaver was particularly geared towards designing a website purely from visual elements? Or am I wrong? Ricky
well it is possible, its basally a more advanced form of FrontPage. i would never suggest designing a whole site in design view as some html elements are important such as keywords and description
if you would like a site made cheaply I can do it or if you want someone to teach you the basics I can do that.
The guy wants to use design view so prob doesn't have good HTML knowledge If he needs help there are cheat sheets on google or I am always free to help
If you don't really know what you are doing, building sites by hand that way is probably the worst idea possible. Use a CMS like WordPress or Joomla
hi Ricky, you can try out kompozer. it's a FREE!! website development software which you can use. it's a great tool for beginners who are starting with website designing. with this you will be able to start developing website for your income. the main advantages of using are : It's FREE!! It has WYSIWYG editing interface - no coding knowledge is needed. Works on Windows, Linux & Mac OS - platform independent. Inbuilt FTP program - this will help you to transfer files to your server Reliable HTML code creation that will work with all of today's most popular browsers. Tabbed editing to make working on multiple pages a snap as i am new to this forum due to which i am not allowed to place any live url's in my posting. sorry for the inconvenience. you can google "kompozer" and you will be taken to the download page. give it a try and let me know your review.
Install Wordpress on your server, get a ready-made theme (free or premium) for it and start using wordpress' admin panel and easily post whatever you want to
ricky smith If you dont ind buying the software you should check out the software that expertofexperts mentioned called ARTISTEER Here is a demo of it. http://www.artisteer.com/?p=demo
I think you can use dreamweaver. I know someone (not designer) who makes sites for his projects with it every now and then.
you can try softwares like: Web studio 5.0 Adobe dreamviewer CS5.5 Netobject essential software.......etc.....
Dude, your choice is a blogging platform that does not require you to code and provides free themes that you can modify with the platform's inbuilt menus. I suggest digging wordpress(dot)org or .com
Depending on your skill level, I would suggest WordPress for beginners and Dreamweaver for advanced designers.
