    Hi all,

Prospective client is advertising consumer software. Anyone has experience marketing software via PPC? I am specifically interested in what conversion rates we might expect for someone purchasing a $100 software item as an "impulse". A trial will be offered of course, but can we expect anyone to purchase on the front end? Is 2% conversion possible on the front end as an impulse purchase without the consumer taking the trial?

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

This depends upon the type of software you are selling. If your software is already there in the market then the conversion ration might be less. If it is new and useful for a consumer then without trial, you can expect a purchase.

So, if your software is newer to the world than you might expect 1% rate up front. Later it may increase based on feedback from people who already used it.
