To some extent I have it. My company pays the 80% and the medical community can kiss my butt for the rest. I am not a very political animal, but, yes, when it comes to medicine I am a full-fledged practicing socialist I guess :)

When you say make all medical expenses tax deductible, would this include dental and vision expenses as well? People need fair coverage for these things as well....

Well, just as medical expenses would not include cosmetic surgery, then dental probably wouldn't include cosmetic dentistry, and vision would not include $500 designer frames, but certainly vision exams.

I have a confession to make. That's what Ron Paul suggests on his Health Care Policy page. I had a sneaking feeling that few people ever read my links (it was posted before).

What Paul has suggested is freeing up the system, lowering taxes SPECIFICALLY on Health, which creates better Return on Investment than taxing for government health care, and putting health care management decisions back in the hands of the people, instead of the insurers or government.

    Radical? Nope.

Unachievable? Nope (pretty easy since most of the legislation is already written).

    Idealistic? Nope.

These are tangible gains in health coverage that could be made NOW. Immediately. But of course they won't make these moves because

    1) It takes power and funding away from Washington.

    2) Health Care like the War is a great political football for the Democrats. It's a tool for electoral victory, not a goal to better the lives of the citizens. We don't need a new President to give us better health care. The Congress could do it NOW. It could have done it a year ago. In the end, Congress is the one who will do it anyway, not the President. The President doesn't get the legislative ball rolling. Congress does.

Here is Paul's Health Care issues page

and here is his Health Freedom page

I advise everyone to read this
