What is more effective: Social Networks like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Friendster or YouTube? Which medium will trigger the viral marketing effect the most? What is your experience and opinion? Thanks for sharing.. Nick Stone
If you optimize your videos just right - I think youtube could be more effective. Plus, the human mind responds better to visual
Both are effective... Youtube is used for something different than just social networks... Why not incorporate the 2 together? That sounds like a plan to me
These days everyone claims that videos are keys to sell... however nobody provides real evidence about it. My experience with all social marketing networks mentioned was rather poor.
Setup a facebook account, setup a youtube account and link the two. To setup linking between facebook and youtube, go to your youtube control panel and its somewhere in there. When you post a video on youtube, it will be embedded on your facebook profile. I have accounts on facebook, myspace, youtube, break.com, tweeter, yahoo video, metacafe, dailymotion,,,, and lots of other sites. So far youtube has been my best source of targeted traffic.
i think youtube will benefit more but the competition is much higher on you tube. Remember that if your video is not well done then it will see no traffic.. just because it is a video it does not means that you will get leads..
I would figure out a way to penetrate facebook and myspace instead. Youtube can be helpful for the big leagues like coca cola!
Videos can do the trick for bringing lots of viral marketing for your website but I wouldn't cut out social networking at all. Bookmarking grows also like wildfire but it's truely based off what is being tossed around in order to get a "lite" to spark the fire. WITH BOTH, quality content and consistency is the key.
facebook + twitter + good relationship with your friends will help you gain more traffic and also video promotion is also helpful.
I guess youtube is more effective than social networking sites. People tend to interest more on videos than socializing.
YouTube has built, and continues to build, its business on video. Sure, the business so far isn’t proving very profitable, but Google is slowly but surely aiming to change that via a whole raft of new measures. Facebook, on the other hand, has built its business on connecting people, offering everyone the chance to keep in touch with friends, message them, and generally provide an online diary/companion. Facebook is a long way behind YouTube in terms of video views. And I also agree with the answers of gaurav17kumar and ~kev~.
