Hello everyone, 4 weeks ago, I've uploaded my website which I worked coding it and designing it from scrap. It's a social networking website which link I will not paste. I've submitted to tousands of directories.. I've created some link exchanges with some good websites, even though they linked me on a non-PRed page.. (will it count?) When I've came across several websites that do banner-exchanges, I was shocked, I mean I've never attacked the relationship/dating/social network/ category yet, to see how things work, but those websites looked like spamkings to me, and I would definetly not post my link on their site. What do you recommend, in case you run similar sites? Any tip of creating a strong list of BL is welcome..
does your site have a PR yet??if none guess it is the reason why they put your site on a none PR page...but it'll count as BL... Submit your site on Link directories...create articles then submit it to Article directories...join forums...create and comments on other blogs...
Have you ever thought about posting to a massize myspace account? Sometimes people sell bulletins, since you have a social network site, maybe this would work out for you since people at myspace dig social networks? Just a thought
I've had this recommandation before, I don't know if myspace is good spot to promote my website, since its a spamplayground lately, and also i'm not that familiar with myspace.
Okay, I'm nearly at 770 users, after 1month and 3days, with no additional (personal) sites linking back, so I guess it is fair, the problem is I went internationally right away, even though the site was consisted of highschool friends, any recommandations about how to grab USA traffic? MySpace advertise.. ?
You are going to have to be patient to see PR for your site. Could take up to 90 days for Google to give you pagerank.
You think after PR will be done, USA traffic will come by itself... I still need to find a way to create some good link exchanges... I hate the fact most linkexchanges are not on mainpage..
I think this thread is confused. The precise question asked isn't clear to me either. On the banner-issue: don't ever link to sites you don't trust. Sites you don't trust are probably not trusted by google either (or will not be trusted by google in the future) - and linking to sites google doesn't trust is not good for your 'reputation'. Your site will be trusted less. It's going to be hard to get USA traffic if you are not going to promote the social network via places like myspace. Social networks have to start with active people both within the network, and in promotion of the network. Netscape actually pays top submittors (called netscape navigators). They know that human beings are at the centre of a social network. But perhaps US traffic isn't your best option anyhow. There are already a lot of US social networking sites. Going for regional, or specific languages may be your best bet. I do like the look of that site. Congratulations on that.
This is one of the most constructive things I ever heard yet on the forum. Thanks for your post, was very inspiring indeed..
Hire some people to put up some seriously interesting content to your website.. make it fat and content-rich ..
Yeah well, content-rich isn't what I'm expecting, I'll just find a way to write external articles about the website itself.. probably the story will be interesting enough for surfers to join and register..
Directory submission to SEO friendly sites, Article submission, Press Release, Social Bookmarking and Forum advertisements and ads on related sites is what will work in your case. Abhilash.
Could you give me a hint where to get all the bookmark buttons, in a small square size, I've seen it on a website and instead editing 40 lines, I rather ask where to get em' As for press release, uhm.. not sure how I was wondering if I give a 2 month link on my mainpage, http://www.mylol.net - just near telalinks, for someone with 2k+ MySpace friends to promote the website, would that work ok in your opinion?
I think that it is difficult to succed with yeat another social website (YASW). You must provide something special.
