Do you think that dating websites (and their afiliate programs) will die because of (free) social networking websites?
Social sites are not really for dating, they are for friends etc. I think the dating market is fine as it is.
Of course they do, but that is not the main reach to potential users to sign up. If I was looking for a partner, why would I sign up at myspace, when a more targeted site like say freedating would be more appropiate.
As an affiliate marketing pro I'm not talking about free dating websites I'm talking about dating sites with affiliate programs More then social networking sites I see also MySpace, Facebook ... as enormous free sites for dating opportunities too with members in the same mood, in the same business, listening the same music, able to browse profiles, to search whoever they want to find, wherever they want ... for free ...
Affliate marketing is old and not something I have done much with, I run a network of gaming related sites and mainly see income from offering services rather the selling a item for another site. My personal best venture is providing content so rich and inviting people just flock to the site through word of mouth which imo is the best method of traffic.
Social nets with aff is making money if you have enough money, but as said before, dating sites are focused; when you meet someone on a soc. net it is more of a coincidence, while on dating sites, both sides are really looking for that kind of thing.
