Take into consideration any Social networking site. These have gained immense popularity today, that we can find almost every other person ,aware about the internetwork , registered on it. Be it a 4th grade kid , the girl next door , a business person or a bored housewife , it has become so easy to track down anyone. But with the good always comes the bad. Many of us might have read about these sites getting into trouble because of the increase in crime rate in the society. Also ,for e.g. at my place, i can see my siblings wasting time scrapping their friends, pimping their profiles and a lot of other stuff, on the cost of their studies. This new concept ,which is no longer new enough, has left me confused. I think they are much more than just Social networking sites. I feel they are more of a time waste. We were doing quite well without them. If anybody has ever pondered over this issue, please do post your views about it.
I haven't tried any of these sites yet, only using social bookmarking so far. But is there a way to get some traffic to your site through them?
All of those sites are crappy. I'm a member of MySpace, but I never use it anymore. Waste of time! Why didn't you add a "None" option?
"waste of time for sure" But these site have gained a lot of popularity. Hits are increasing day by day. They can be used in a smart way too.
And what about the crime rate increase due to these site? There's no stopping. I get scared at times when my sister comes and tells me her friend's experiences. Would there ever be a Cyber Law against it?
As far as i seen .... I liked orkut than other sites because its simple and it can be browsed in a very low connection too ...very user friendly ..it helped me and my friends to get much closer even though we were miles apart
Myspace was giving me too many spammy stuff. Orkut is alright. Friendster was my favorite for a long time.
