I know a specific niche of people in the uk who i think would be interested in there own social networking site. ITs a type of sport but i dont want to say what sport.

If its not a greatly popular sport do you reckon it will work if there is not millions of users to choose from.

I could make it fit there sport e.g. profiles with stuff to do with the sport in.

Also i could advertise it around really cheap and pretty much all free aswell

Do you reckon it would work and be profitable if i could only get about 500 - 1000 members.

    Thanks

if you can sell on your created network something for 20$ for example, and you know that most of them will buy your stuff, you can earn 20 000 $. or you can have some extras that you implement into your network as paid services monthly. depends what is the topic - if it's bubble gum chewing sports, don't try, if it's ferrari dragrace, go for it!

One factor to consider is how much demand there is for advertising to people who play that sport. People into golf or sailing or skiing may disproportionately spend more money on their sport than players of something where the equipment is not expensive and isn't associated with luxury holidays.

Its a pretty expensive sport as some things cost about $1000 +

I really want to start a social network site and think going for a specific niche of people will be the only way as you cant compete with sies such as myspace but if it fits there interest and has bits that are directly to do with there sport i think it will have something other sites dont

    Thanks
