Not so fast on that wonderful Front Page of Google paradise you are enjoying....

    Read on.

I posted to Digg moderately for the past several years.
Made the first page of Google on my chosen search terms many times over.
Sure, they pointed to Digg.com, but the link on the page there went to my site.

Out of the blue, my account was deleted.....along with every posting I ever made there.
Note- I WAS spamming links out, but it was very sporadic....and I made sure to "Digg" lots of stories, participate, etc.
People continue to spam the crap out of the site, so I can only surmise that they nuke what they happen to see, but make little effort to police the site beyond that.

Needless to say, various ad campaigns (like Adsense) went in the tank the day this happened, and has not recovered.

The lesson to be learned here is that Digg WILL get you on the first page- until you cross that invisible line and all your "marketing" disappears in the blink of an eye.

Yahoo Answers bans accounts as well, but you will continue to get traffic as the "Marketing" links remain.

Can't recall if Stumble leaves the postings after a ban.
Redditt has some sort of mysterious filter that you don't even know is taking effect.
One day I'm posting and getting gobs of traffic.
A week later, the posts go through just fine, but I get ZERO follows on ANY posts showing in my stats.
