Hey guys, I have read many threads that social networking and marketing are very related. People are even getting their affiliate marketing done with the social networks. I never tried though. What's your thoughts about this? any experience? Feel free to share!
Social networking is just another means of generating traffic, you can possibly get affiliate sales through them, but for me it wouldn't be worth the time.
I use Twitter to gain traffic to my blog. I'll usually write a blog post that helps solve some kind of problem for folks using Twitter, and then I'll create a keyword rich tweet about it. Works everytime.
Social networking works wonders for affiliate marketing. I currently use squidoo and twitter to promote my affiliate products. So far I have only seen good results and my sales are steadily increasing. However, be aware when you market with social networks it takes a much longer time to set-up than other marketing methods. But, your effort will be rewarded in the long run. I have always found that viral marketing is the best type of marketing tool that a marketer can have because word of mouth is powerful in business.
I don't mess with affiliate marketing with social networks Social media is there for us to network, not to be sold to with some affiliate program. The best method I've came up with is to "occasionally" send a tweet or update to a blog post which you've added affiliate links, sending ppl directly to a squeeze page is spammy IMHO. regards -Brandon
Brandon, you are very correct. But unfortunately 80% of the users in all the social networking sites are just for marketing purpose. What to do..
I agree social networking is very much a part of marketing. In fact the term more commonly used when talking to marketing professionals is social media marketing and the purpose is to drive traffic to your site...which gets them into your sales funnel. Google sales funnel and you'll see how all these things play together in order to achieve your ultimate goal of converting prospects into buyers.
yeah..I agree. From marketing perspective social networking sites have great potential. But is this also a black hat way? I may be wrong..
And thank you for sharing Anywhere you have a group of people you are sure to find someone selling something. It is not blackhat IMHO, just a bit of an untruth if you are not socializing also. I do know it does take a lot of your time away from you when dealing with the SN type of promoting. This is one area I would like to outsource someday as I find it as boring as can be. But I hear of great successes using it. Good luck..
People who really use social networks as intended hate to see people pushing affiliate products on them.
Yeah, very correct. They never like advertisements or business oriented usage. But these sites nearly lost their soul.
Really i dont know much about marketing, but social networking helps in getting thousands of visitors to sites by blogging, groups, communities, twitter like that. Also it helps in video marketing.
Social networking is a kind of eMarketing. And eMarketing is a kind of marketing. This is the way these two definitions correlate with each other.
Yes today social networking sites like facebook , twitter , ezdia etc are playing a great role in driving traffic to your site. It not only helps in driving traffic but also by this you are able to promote your site easily with no investment.
