    Hey,

    I am looking to start up a site for local higher education students - A casual site with features related to snap chat, instagram, facebook, twitter etc.

    I already had a site up using jcow and a few other scripts that were mainly focused just on the fb theme but I want something more modern, just things to check in on the latest things happening etc.

    Is there anything like this available?

    I think that for a small group of people there is no point in a new social network. You can use any convenient. It all depends on the data you will transfer.
