Thank you for your suggestions and taking time to see my site. I'm afraid that putting the pictures of my members on first page would make my network less private ( I know that social network and privacy won't work very well) . I followed the example of the big social networks and remove the pictures of my members from first page. If my members will request this feature I will obey . Regarding plugins, I think that more plugins would make my site slower , isn't it?
definitely, the plugins wont make your website slower. you should have atleast a VPS to run this kind of website. a shared hosting wont help you, as wordpress sites uses more server resources..

So I'll do the usual, post on forums, comment on blogs, submit to directories . Eventually, I will get some traffic, so this is not what I'm worried about. I still don't know how to make people register. If someone that has some experience in this domain is around , I would appreciate any kind of advice.
Hi, for me.. the website look is quite plain... a custom design will be great.. however.. it's a great idea for the website.. I guess it will be interesting if you could show some of your website content a little bit.. so other people could figure out what your website 'offer'.. and also I think it will be great if you can make it global (not only for US, but other country too)
I was afraid that "us" will be misunderstood. It doesn't mean United States rockers , but " We rockers ". It was a risk that I took. The Forum is visible to guest also, and also the news section and the group directory. The other feautures how to show them but to keep the privacy of my members too?
This is the all time question; how do I drive traffic to my website. 1. Content - You need more content. .like the place is lived in already... new means dead for some people 2. SEO - Images need to be exactly what they are - picture of metallica name it that.. 3. Behind the scene - discuss issues in your forum that are talked about behind scenes, ripped off lyrics, etx. some controversy in a orderly manner can be good.. any hot girls who follow around rockers..? 4. Invite people to your topics.. create a facebook fan page and then ask a question.. and have them respond on the website 5. add a facebook connect option to your website..

For now I'm only focusing in getting members . I must admit is not going that great but I'm only at the beginning and therefor I'm not worried .
