    Social networking is alright, but personally i'd suggest going for some form of Viral marketing along with it :D make's thing alot more easier :) IMO

    That's an interesting question :p It could be a niche for all we know, but at the moment i can only think about heading down to vegas to try and entice people into a new gambling site that pays off almost all the time :p

    I really thought that would increase at least a little bit my position on google. I posted to all of the ususal soc. bookmarking sites, more than 50 of them , and didn't notice any significant improvement in SERP. Is that normal?

    Just go with sports blogs. All of them are follow and are related to sports, and that's what sports betting sites use to build links.

    You need to simply follow the optimization policies. There are many other tactics through which you can optimize your website like PPC, adwords etc. But you need money for that.
