The simple idea behind Social Bookmarking is to submit your website to places like del.icio.us, Furl, Spurl, My Web Yahoo, etc. The number of backlinks you get from this is limited, and you won't get a lot of traffic either. But it will perhaps help get your site indexed by search engines quicker. To really benefit from this, you need lots of people to create social bookmarks to your website. You can do this by a) have something really great that attracts natural bookmarking (aka link bait), or b) ask lots of friends to bookmark your site for you. Link baiting works best with digg, reddit and shoutwire, but you need to have something really really good. If you're looking for AdSense revenue, then don't expect much from this traffic. You mean creating one from scratch? That would be a bit redundant as there are already so many around.
The two main sites are Stumbleupon and Del.icio.us You need to appear natural with your submissions, and not like a spammer. Take at least 2 minutes between each submission, limit yourself to 5 submissions per day and submit other URLs apart from your own. Also, be an active user on their sites by having your own list of other favourite users etc.
Don't know much about social bookmarking but you can add your link in squidoo group for increase traffic for your site. squidoo.com/groups/onlinestores
register in del.icio.us and make a bookmark for your site ! If your site is really good and useful it will automatically be bookmarked by more members thus creating a community. more bookmarks for your site means more exposure and increased rankings for your keywords.
You can also register on StumbleUpon.com, download their toolbar, and stumble your site. After you've done that, you can exchange stumbles with other users in the freebies forum at DP.
