I've seen so many postings in the services section about people willing to submit webpages to social bookmarking sites. 1. Do these social bookmarking sites work well in creating backlinks or are most of these sites using nofollow? 2. If my website has 300 pages, what would be a suitable number of pages to bookmark on these social bookmarking sites without being considered as spam? Carmen
1. Most of these links are nofollow but they are still great for faster indexing and traffic. 2. Bookmark and don't worry, it won't be considered as spam. Best 23 Social Bookmarking Sites [June 2007] Good luck!
I've seen del.icio.us bookmarks show up as backlinks. Also, Digg is great for backlinks, but I think they are temporary. As they age I think they fall off.

Push the homepage if you want traffic and the inner pages if you want backlinks. You can PM mckST, he has a good service for delicious. Or you can do it yourself to have a better control of the tags, titles, ... Don't forget Netvouz.com, this is my favorite bookmarking website (ultrafast, plenty of features, clean design).

They do still seem to get indexed; I wonder if respected sites such as Del.ico.us have the no follow tag ignored? I've seen it also for BBC sites; the link is labeled no-follow but it still seems to effect rankings in Google.
Yes, social bookmarking services work to get you traffic in the short term. You would need to submit a lot in order to keep your traffic consistent.
