Does anyone have any recent experience whether social bookmarking links are any use for a new site (approx 1 month old?). Or does it not make much difference anymore? I'm thinking of trying it myself, manually of course to try and get some anchor text but it seems so time consuming. Thanks for your input.
Not that much but in the long run, it will. You just need more patience and time to see the results. This is like any other SEO efforts.
I have plenty of websites being created and I always bookmark, ping, do some whois submissions and submit any RSS feeds it may have. Next day my traffic is in the double figures consistently. I know double figures isnt huge but for a brand new domain its not bad. Easy backlinks like bookmarks, comments, whois submissions and pinging of any new pages will get you indexed in as little as hours. For bigger more long term results though you will need some higher quality links which can be bought or made (articles etc) but every link has a purpose it seems.
they are good for a quick cache of your page etc -make them to the deepapges of your website - there are lots of services out there which will make you bookmarks, but only do a few at a time and spread tehm over a period of months - delicious is a good starting point - url.org is also nice - jumptags are brilliant... there are loads of them really - googles new +1 could be classed as a social bookmark and this may prove more beneficial that mass submision. NB - after you make your bookmarks - click them from within you profile - this way they sometimes go to the homepage of the bookmarking site and so you will get other ppl clicking them from the recently added bookmarks section etc. Good luck
I used bookmarking demon, usually i bookmarked in 1.000 social bookmarking a day to my webste that ages 3 weeks, and all ready get trafic about 2k visitor, and dialy visitor beetween 100-200, day to day looks get easier to get traffic, i think we can see the result in 2-3 month, unlike blog commenting
Any little bit can help, certainly won't hurt. Social Bookmarking is definitely good for indexing new pages on your site and may attract some targetted visitors. Social monkee is really quick - you just put in the links and it creates 25 social bookmarks using various accounts (so you don't have to create new accounts) - i just did on a new site / low competition product and some of those bookmarks are in the top 20 of google (cause the product is very new, but it's still there for me) it is 100% free - my link http://www.specialofferstop.com/socialmonkee if you'd like to use. Again it's free
I think the following link will helps you - http://www.squidoo.com/some-social-bookmarking-strategies-for-success
I've just started using the free version of social monkee (<-- affiliate link) its easy enough to setup and generate the posts. Time will tell how successful it is ... I'm no social bookmarking expert (yet)
It's worth trying social bookmarking. I agree with Zara Marie that it will help in the long run. All you need is patience.
you traying a socialbookmarksite.com and delicious.com and savenkeep.com they site is provide a profile link also so you ping your profile url and it is benefit to in your traffic.
It's worth doing, but don't spend hours on it, the effects of links from social bookmarking websites are becoming worthless, but still worth having.
When I submited a site for value estimator. Those site will tell info like, how may backlink of the particular site, bookmark, number of page index. If site estimator can tell those info. I am sure Google know more than that. If a site is 0 bookmark, I am sure that site is not really performing.
Well I think it is important to know whether you are posting in a do follow social bookmark or not, unfortunately some popular dofollow social bookmarks have turned into nofollow
