    There are 2 ways to benefit from Social Bookmarking

    1. Traffic - You can get substantial traffic from your bookmarking site you join if you participate in their community by digging, voting, commenting... to the other members posts. Also if the keywords you use are right, meaning with high search volumes, and interesting posts, the bookmark link itself could appear in the SERP's.

    2. Backlinks - links posted to Bookmarking Sites are counted by Google and help in increasing PR

    Ask me is right.

    There should be no problem when you bookmark your own pages. Personally, I bookmark all my webpages, ezine articles, squidoo lenses and even my USFreeads posts.

    I would encourage you to participate in the communities to get full benefit of potential traffic from the bookmarking site's members.
