I was just wondering what these sites do?
Im creating a blog soon and i plan to put up new posts every other day, i was wondering what posting links to my blog entries on sites like this would do.

I know this is a total noob question but im new to this :)

The mentioned sites are high pr sites and so posting a link on them to your own blog etc will increase your search engine performance.

Don't expect direct traffic from them; but yes they'll help you with SE rankings for long tail keywords.

It's exactly the other way round. You will get some direct traffic from social news/bookmarking websites and they won't help you with SE rankings because they are nofollow :)

Less digg doesn't necessarily mean 'no traffic' :) If you digg homepage of a real estate or business website who will digg it but yourself?

You should only use link-baits or other articles with good (or controversial) titles to get diggs and traffic. I quickly receive 100+ UV from indianpad when I bookmark an Indian movie review or video.

ooh i get you so social bookmarking sites are a good way of linking back your site which i know gives your site higher search engine rank.
So do you think it would be a wise move to make an account on loads of these sites and link all my articles in them? Or is that just spamming?

It's alright, but don't expect much from them, Although they are good for new sites. :)
