Social Bookmarking services - why is it banned from DP?

    Hi,

    I would like to know why people are not allowed to promote their stumble, digg or social bookmarking services? I was looking for some, and then seen a sticky about people cannot offer this service - WHAT HAPPENED? did i miss something..

    I am not complaining - i just want to know :)

    I may not know the full details, but promoting such services could result in Digg, SU, etc., banning DP URLs from being submitted. That's my guess why promoting such services are not allowed. Not that it matters much to me. Those are the rules, and I follow them. :)

    It was banned because the moderators and admins agreed that it was inappropriate to promote those kinds of services here. In addition to potentially violating the TOS of the bookmarking services, they caused other problems, like inappropriate iTrader exchanges and a lot of bumping or useless posts littering the forum.
