Social Bookmarking Question

OK I have no clue what Social Bookmarking is can somebody enlighten me on how it is good for SEO?

If my site is an entertainment site then my audience is not likley to have social bookmarking user accounts therefore is it even worth adding a add to digg add to deli.icio.us add to technorati etc after every post?

When you doing book mark in your site, you will get traffic.

 

Adding various social media sites after every post and in your sidebar is a good idea as that way you are offering your site or blog readers to submit your site/post there and if it is already submitted there, have some vote for your posts

 

Definitely It will help you much. You should constantly submit you post and links in these sites and if your post is attractive you can get huge traffic and backlinks. Then automatically your SERP and pagerank would increase.

 

I don't think it have any affect on SEO.... almost all social bookmarking websites use nofollow tag !!! Social Bookmarking Websites will be 2 much useful in getting quality traffic so as to expose your website ... but i don't think that it will help you in getting good rankings !!

Social bookmarking is just that

posting links to interesting material on your site AND other sites
such places are digg, delicious, stumbleupon, reddit etc

As people mentioned posting links to your own site can be beneficial
some of you users will have accounts with such places and you will
be making their lifes easier by including the links under every post
or you might even make some to start an account in order to post a
link they really like.

 

Either your website is related to entertainment site or related to any other category, social bookmarking always helps in increasing the traffic on the website. so it is always better to go for social bookmarking website.

Many thanks for the replies, so when i submit an article to these sites, how does a vote from a person on digg or other sb site have an effect.

So should i do the following:
1. Re-write my article in short and submit it to major social bookmarking sites.
2. Offer links to add a vote to these sites after my post content on my website

The thing is if most links or no follow then it won't help SEO or count as a backlink? And i don't think my audience will have accounts with these social bookmarking websites.
