Hello, I am planning to put social bookmarking buttons to my website, but i am confused a little bit. Should i use buttons like addthis.com or is it better idea to put those buttons seperately? I have a space that 728 x 15 google link units fits. So should i put like, digg button, stumbleupon, delicious, etc. etc. or just put a addthis button with dropdown when you hover on it ? Actually if i only put addthis button the right side of the box will be empty, or if i put those buttons 1 by 1 and center them probably it will look better. P.s : Is there any other code or script that will list all of those buttons next to each other or should i add them manually?
Its better that you put buttons separately, as addthis or similar services don't include all best social bookmark buttons on them.
This isn't true You can sign for an addthis account and besides stats you can do further customization and add as many as 256 social network or simply those of your choice or needs adn very easy, simply grabbing the basic code they provide you and then adding each to each button the suffix of the service you want. In example button_google displays Google Bookmars, button_twitter, Twitter button, and so on. HEY, WAIT A MINUTE... you resurrected a very old thread and just to post innacurate information!
I wouldn't recommend addthis. The most important ones are digg, twitter(yeah), Facebook and stumbleupon. Make sure the buttons are VISIBLE, mine are 48x48
IMO, some of the bookmarking site in addthis isn't that a hit so I take digg, facebook, twitter and stumbleupon exclusive buttons especially FB's like button. Too many choices in addthis makes the sharing a hard work for your readers or visitors.
