Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on Social Bookmarking for improving SEO. My main questions are..... 1 - How important is it and how much time should I spend on it? 2 - Should I just be posting to the main sites...Digg, Delicious, Stumble, or should it be on many more? If it is many more what is a good resource to find a list of social bookmark sites. 3 - Should I be bookmarking every page on my site or just a few main pages? Any advice or help with social bookmarking and how to use it would be much appreciated! Thanks, James
Hi Kav, Social Bookmarking is only good for getting your website indexed, and nothing more. If you look at the backlink profiles for the top major competitors for any keyword niche, you'll notice something they have in common... That one thing they all use is highly relevant contextual backlinks, and not social bookmarking. If you focus on obtaining backlinks through Web 2.0's, Article Directories, & High PR blog networks. You'll see your rankings skyrocket like no other. Personally, I NEVER use social bookmarking, and I've done extremely well with just the 3 types above.
If you've a new website then you should definitely go for Social Bookmarking as it'll help you to index your website very fast... It can generate a good amount of traffic as well but that'll be for short time only. If you think about long term, SB won't help you much....
