Social Bookmarking & Duplicate Content Issues

    Hello

I have just used copyscape to check a couple of my sites, and found that on one site the homepage shows copies from social bookmarking sites. When I clicked on these sites, the person that has bookmarked the site has copied the whole of the homepage text as the description.

Is this a problem? Should I try to contact the person to change the description, or is it really nothing to be concerned about?

    Many Thanks

Chances are that it would be a coincidence or a copied fro your homepage. Either of the two you don't have to worry. Search Engine will put a ban on him.

his webpage will not get indexed (duplicate content), so when someone makes a search they your page will turn up in the SERPS

if he does this too many times his whole site will start to get impacted

let me clear one thing first that there is nothing like getting banned by search engines. if someone copies the content from your site or if you copy the content from someone's site, the search engine is intelligent enough to recognize it and display the more relevant, original and legitimate content.

content copy from your website then google see which content is update first. then after your content is copy from your website so it will harmful for those who copy your content so you don't need to worry about regarding this matter.

Thanks for the feedback guys, its much appreciated. I didn't think it was anything to worry about, but have had a drop in SERPS for some of my main keywords this week so have been double checking different aspects of my site to look for any changes. Some of the keywords are back today so hopefully the rest will just sort themselves out in time.
