Hi, I am always searching around the site for good info but have not seen much on this subject. So far I have been building backlinks via link exchanges and blog commenting and I am yet to try building them via social bookmarking. When I first started building websites, Stumble apon sent me over 2000 visitors in one night but since then I have had no luck with that. I think it was just 'pure luck'. The question is, what are your social bookmarking tactics? What method has worked for you? (if you are willing to share) For my main niche (funny, humour), I believe promoting in this way would be good for the sites but simply do not know where to start.
to get good traffic from Stumble or digg, etc, you actually need to network. more people you can network with, more people will stumble or digg your post and more traffic you will get. aside form that, there is not much secret in social bookmarking. all you do is find the social bookmarking sites, sign up with them, and bookmark your site. simple as that
Social bookmarking tactic is first whether you have content that can go viral, that has a chance to interest people. Then submit it to high traffic websites like stumbleupon, digg, etc. and then it will likely gather much interest from the community there thereby resulting in a number of visits.
