I think this is her "hate march" but she may have difficulty knowing who was on the "hate march" and who was having a reasoned discussion.
Im not a racist but , i have to say it dos kinda do my head in when you live in a small town , and 75% of them are from anther part of the world and do no speak one bit of english and think they own your coutry, it realy dos my head in.
That's the point - they do. They pay taxes, contribute to the economy and vote. By allowing immigration a country changes - you stop having F&C as your national dish and have a curry instead (and the prices are so good!). The faces of the people in shops and offices changes. The accent changes. Now the next generation is left with the political policies of the last generation and if you don't like it you have an uphill battle effecting any change. You can't ask the people to leave - for those born in the country it's their only home. Others they may have lived most of their lives there. Integration is a long slow process and while it helps to be the same "race" as the majority and to have the same first language if you're not born in a country you aren't local and may never be. I know when I was living in the UK there were advantages and disadvantages of being a foreigner. For many, no doubt, there are no advantages.
Why don't you just say that 75% of them have a different skin color than yours? I think that's what you wanted to say, otherwise you wouldn't have said "I'm not a racist"
Nice reply... But im not on about the people that was born in the UK im on about all the 50,000 or more people that come from other countrys a day that are just coming over here to get jobs , open shops , and in the town i live in has the most foreigners in the UK , its getting hard to even find a job because gang master pick foreigners because they will work for less money then Brits will. Heres a little aticle what was on the news it looks to be old http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/vote_2005/frontpage/4444141.stm And just to prove that people in Boston don't agree with all the foreigners in boston take a look at what happend in 2004 , after we got knocked out of Euro 2004 by France , everyone desided they hand enought and went to get a Turkish cafe http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lincolnshire/4474683.stm Integration sucks in boston or should i say in UK its self they send the foreigners home , that we pay for in Taxes and they get a free ride home and then come back in a month to work again. Im not a racist but just trying to get my point over that there is too too many foreigners in boston and there taking our jobs. The foreigners here start half the trouble and who gets the blame we do!
If i was a rasist i would of said, whats skin color got to do with any think ? I have russian , polish , french, romanion freinds, i have worked with around 60 foreigners , if i was rascist i would not even work in the same place as them.
From the article link he gave the immigrants came from Europe, Europe, Europe, Europe, Europe, Europe, and Europe. It sounded like they all came from countries with poor economies and were their to make money to send home. There should be an export tax on cash if people want to earn money in a country without investing or spending in the country to contribute to the economy. I wouldn't worry about the UK and european immigrants, it just means there will be kids named Nigel Kowalski and Montgomery Cwycyshyn playing for England in World Cup in 2022.
Quote for truth. I was going to say something similar to that. I've always believed that everyone is slightly racist - but not necessarily in a violent way. While I'm not actively racist - as in I don't 'hate' other races or actively discriminate - I still do prefer my own race to anothers'. For example, if I was in a building and on one side was a group of white people, and the other side was a group of black people, I would choose to stand with the white people because they are the same as me. That doesn't mean I hate black people - or anyone else - I would just feel more comfortable with people who are more similar to me. And I think it is perfectly natural. But this doesn't mean that I really have a problem with other races - because I don't. I don't go around thinking about it and knowingly discriminating - I try my best to treat everyone as equally as I can. I'll be friends with anyone of any color and am completely okay with interracial marriage. So while I may slightly prefer my own race, I'm not racist to the point that I reject others or treat them too different (maybe slightly different because I would try to respect their background).
Hi, didn't know you are here too Remember me? I visit your blog quite frequently Nice avatar btw. Anyway I am not a racist, but yes, I think it is human nature to stereotype people.
So far the poll is going as expected: Over 70% say they are not racists Over 68% say lots of people are Most people say they are not racist but say most people are. I am still not a racist and still believe most people are not (although they don't necessarily like the tribe over the next hill ).
Pretty much every body is racist to some extent to some races. There are racisms between white and black, black and white, black and black, caste based racism as seen in India/Pakistan etc. all over the world. People differ only in the level of their racism only.
Hi there! Yeah I remember you~ Nice to see a familiar face (err..name?) And thank you I think most people say they're not racist because they're not consciously racist. They don't knowingly discriminate against others, and don't seem to notice any differences in how they treat people. So they're not like.. raging lunatic racists.
I'm not racist. I hate everyone... I'm not racist. I judge people based on their actions not their color or creed. People are people is one of my little "filler phrases", because people from everywhere are generally the same. you get nice people, you get nasty people and you get everything in between, no matter what colour or race..
I am not particularly racist, but I do see a lot of people around me that are. I also even see a few people here on DP who I would define as racist.
I never looked at racism like this.... It's interesting to see the points of views. As for me i'm not racist at all. I don't have anything against anybody, maybe racism is something a bit more personal to some people.
