I partially agree with this. People have opportunities all the time but they don't take them. If they don't take the opportunity, they don't deserve to have them.
Patriotism and racism are rather different feelings, but often patriots turn into racists. Hard to believe, that people can't recognize such things((
I am racist, I have preconceived views before I even speak to a person or try to understand them. We can all identify differences in race and thus, we are racist.
I hate the Korean population because they're loud as hell, our entire school is turning into an Asian bazaar, and getting to places in my school requires broken limbs. Russians are, on the other hand, harmless. Yea, our China town houses more Chinese than China alone. But I'm fine with Chinese/Japanese/etc. They escaped poverty like me. I just don't like Koreans, because of personal experiences. I've learned to dislike all Koreans based on the ones in my school. That is racism. Go stare at this for 20-30 minutes.
I believe that everyone is a racist. People that are "not" racist don't like people that are, so they are really racist against the racists!
I don't understand how anyone could be racist! We're all made of the same stuff and at the end of the day we are all capable of the same achievements and emotions. Does it really matter that we look different? That we believe in different things? that's what makes us all individuals and unique. Wouldn't it be boring if we were all carbon copies, with no history or culture? I myself are of European heritage and have white skin.. my partner and the father of my children is from the Polynesian Island of Samoa, making him black. My babies are precious and I wouldn't change them for the world! People could be purple and have 6 eyes, but they'd still look the same to me!
I don't consider myself a racist at all, but we all influenced to some degree by some people who are.
So far the pole is saying that racists are in the minority by how we describe ourselves but people than say racists are the majority. This is the inconsistency I expected. It's also interesting to note that people who say they are not from a mixed area see a lot of racism. Also there are those who don't like people groups very close to themselves like Hutus not liking Tutsi we have Romanians not liking Romanis and various other Europeans not liking other Europeans. By the way, some coward gave me red rep with the comment "ignorant" and withheld his name. I am guessing he was the same guy that said white people wouldn't help black people. He should maybe meet some white people some day.
I think that it is justified for some people to strongly dislike their own people if their own people have been sabotaging them in their strive for success, individuality, freedom and so on.
A guy from Romania earlier in this thread said "Yes i am i hate gupsis in our country they are a lot of them". Gupsis are gypsies who are also known as Romanis.
