So, where do I start?

I have come up with an idea that I think will make a lot of people a lot of money. I have tested the idea, and the results were fantastic. I too will be well to do as a result, but now I need to get my idea out there.

I do not have a website, I do not have any marketing under way, I really only have the idea in my head and have tested it on a few different occasions to perfection.

The customer will be an exclusive group of people (similar to lawyers etc...). It is a North American idea. I need to get it out there. Do I start with a website? A domain name?

I am so excited for the idea, that I cannot clearly get myself started...

If it's a service to people, you can start without a website; if you want a website to promote your service, you shall prepare a website; if you want the website as a way to attract customers, start designing it now.

BTW, what's the idea? Can you share with us?

I suggest you find and decide on an effective keyword phrase that people will use to search for the product or service you offer. Then get a domain name, with a part of the keyword phrase in the domain name itself. Start building a website, and apply effective optimization techniques to the site, based on the keywords you are using. If you do everythng right, you should start to get visitors from the search engines, from people who are looking for the product and service you are offering.

If its going to make alot of people money, will it also make you money?
Is it something that would come across as a scam or is it something that people would think is reliable and legitimate?

Start by contacting a few people and doing some case studies that
you can document and use as proof when it comes to selling the idea
    to other people.

Once you've done that, thinking about joint ventures if you don't want
to put up your own site and do your own advertising. Find partners
who have access to the sort of customers you're looking for, and offer
them a cut of the profits.
