So what's with the PR excitement?

    Ok, everyone's all excited about the Goo's latest PR and BL updates. While I was interested to see BL updates, (back links) the whole PR thing leaves me rather lacking in enthusiasm. Sure, as expected, many of our clients sites got better PR and SERPS have been steadily rising.

    For those that don't know or are interested, the recent updates were;

    TBPR Export: Toolbar PageRank Export - export of Real PR to the Toolbar PR 11 unit scale (no longer called a PR update as Real PR is updated continously and the Toolbar PR change is just an export of that updated value).

    AND

    BL Export: Backlink Export - export of a sample of the number of backlinks which is almost meaningless as it is only a sample number. This number can be seen with the link:www.domain.tld command (no longer called a BL update as backlinks are updated continously and the visible BL number change is an export of that updated value).

    Consdering PR is all but useless in actual value, why the excitement?

    Only reasons I can fathom are;

    1. You sell text links. Pricing is often partially based on Goo's PR.
    2. Google Ad Sense; Your only reason for existence is to get people to click your GAS.

    Can some one tell me the perceived value of your PR?
    Why the excitement?

    I reckon it's worth about 1 minute of my time and then back to business.

    It does give a warm glow to see new sites get a green stick.
