I'm curious to know what settings you use for your Platinum SEO pack. Headspace was nice, All in One SEO pretty good too but I found this best of breed coupled with Yoast's Canonical plugin. There are a dizzying array of features and not quite sure which ones to use. There are questions about whether to use no follow on comments (on could mean more commenters but also more spam) but moreso about what to use. If you've got your settings would be interesting to hear some sharing. I'm not sure why for all of these (my blog is fact based stuff) but I've got: PSP Meta Index and Nofollow Tags: index, follow NOARCHIVE this page/post: OFF NOSNIPPET of this page/post:OFF Disable title rewrite on this page/post: OFF Disable PSP title format on this page/post:OFF Disable PSP on this page/postOFF General Settings are: Automatically do 301: ON Home Title: Blank Rewrite Titles: ON Canonical URLS: ON Rewrite Titles: ON Use Categories for META keywords: ON Use noindex for Categories: OFF Use noindex for Date based Archives: ON Use Tags for META keywords: OFF Use noindex for Tag Archives: OFF Use noindex for comment pages of posts(Introduced in wordpress 2.7): ON Use noindex for comments RSS feeds: ON Use noindex for all RSS feeds: ON Use noindex for Search result pages on the site: ON Use noindex for sub pages: ON Use noindex for author archives:ON Add noodp meta tag: ON Add noydir meta tag: ON nofollow category listings on pages: OFF nofollow category listings on posts: OFF nofollow archive listings on pages: OFF nofollow archive listings on posts: OFF nofollow external links on front page: OFF nofollow login and registration links: ON nofollow links to tag pages: OFF Autogenerate Descriptions: ON Additional Headers: NONE Log Important Events: OFF
Wow... Google indexed this post within the hour! BTW, I've made a few changes. Curious to know your thoughts and wondering whether the "canonical" setting actually works for this and any WP plugin. I mean how does it know which version is the right one to use?
I actually prefer to use All in One SEO, and yes the canonical is recommended b/c of dup content and such.
NO it isn't. It supposedly is duplicative of the one Wordpress has. At least that is what some big SEO experts seem to say.
