Hello, So iv been reading alot of articles and it seems that to do seo you should pretend seo doesn't exist and get all your links from social sites? But this doesn't make any sense as google is meant to be the source of traffic for websites and if these social sites are so good now for seo and provide lots of visitors and people naturally backlinking to your website then what is the point of google anymore? Are google just basically self destructing by killing off seo? (i hope they do go bankrupt)
google as a business would always try to counter SEO as this would make businesses spend more money on adwords. if business owner could SEO and get all the traffic organically, they wouldn't spend big bucks on PPC campaign/adwords. after penguin update, lot of sites lost their ranking which made lot of business owbers spend more money on adwords as they need to survive. last look at google's last quarter revenue which will tell you all.
