    Part of my responsibilities include fact-checking for a novel partly set in India.

    I'm opening this thread because I don't know enough about India and research doesn't always do the job. So I invite you to tell me the most interesting facts about contemporary India.

    Not interested in tourist lore...I would like to hear about modern Hinduism as well as Rig Vedic, different gods & goddesses and where they are worshiped, interesting terms like shakti, deva, dharma (include definitions). I'm also curious about agriculture in India, which regions are struggling and which are lush.

    Finally, I'd like to hear about the tech scene in India and where you see this technology headed.

    Thank you for your help.

    India is my country and all Indians are my brothers and sisters.

    I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.

    I shall always strive to be worthy of it.

    I shall give respect to my parents, teachers and elders and treat everyone with courtesy.

    To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.

    In their well being and prosperity alone lies my happiness.

    Jai Hind!

    Agriculture: Punjab, Haryana are doing well.

    Tech: Bangalore is the Tech capital of India. Pune, and Chennai are also in the top scene.

    Gods, religion: There are some thousands and thousands of gods. No one can give you a perfect overview of it. Just Google them and check it for yourself.

    shakthi -> power
    deva -> god
    dharma -> duty.

    That's all for today's news.
    have a good day.
    :D :D :)
