Just open a lots of new directory all with PR0. So sad PR is back, no way to hide my PR any more.

However, I notice that links from directory are counting much less as a link??? Google seems to give more weight to links from regular web sites. Does any one notice this????

I had a great weekend in the yard with the kids and never once worried about it.

It's handy to have, but life goes on.

What's the proof for this? or have you run an experiment? I disagree with this statement until I see a proof.

The general consensus is that the weight a page can contribute to other pages is dependent on its pagerank. However, since its "outgoing PR" is static pages with more links contribute less to each linked page PR wise. What you call regular web sites I guess is pages with fewer outgoing links.

The more pages you vote for the less votes each page gets.

I think he is saying "links from directory are counting much less as a link" than they use to. And your explanation doesn't address this claim.

I am just thinking, not sure yet.

I have two news sites 2 months ago. One of them I got lots of links for directory, one of them I only get a few links from some web pages, e.g. guestbook. :p. The first site, I have about 8500 pages indexed by Google now. The second one, I got 45,000 pages indexed by Google now. So I am thinking what is going on??????? Both of are listed in DMOZ immediately, however I did not see any effect of listing in DMOZ... Another sad thing.

Many directories have lost a lot of cached pages. You will not get a back link if the directory page you submit to is not cached. Directories with well developed databases and a lot of cached pages are just as strong as they have always been. Rumors and innuendos of anything else are totally unproven and false.
