I have just started this and I am so scared of getting banned that I don't even visit my own sites.

I don't think you need to be that careful.

I have only knowingly clicked on one Google ad as an accident. My click occurred here yesterday and was a total accident. I know Shawn has site programmed where we will not click on our own ads but was not happy with the goof.

I can assure you ...you are not alone.

I avoid visiting my sites during night when I am sleepy...lest I may click an ad unknowingly :p

Oh I did not click my own ad. I accidentally clicked an ad on DP but it did give me a queesy feeling.

My point being it is the only time I have ever clicked on an Adsense ad accidentally. Had it been on my own page I would tell Google immediately. I just can't forsee the accidental clicking being anything to worry about.

About 3 years ago my 3 kids had neopet accounts. In December they gave out stuff and all 3 kids went to claim it. Later that day all their accounts were banned claiming 1 person was using 3 accounts. I sent Neopets a nice letter with proof of 3 kids on about 5 occassions without a single response. My kids worked hard on their accounts and were quite upset about being banned. Anyways, my point is, I get nervous too, although very rare, innocent people do get banned.

As it was just before Christmas I had spent about $150.00 on Neopet toys for the kids for Christmas the day before. Needless to say I returned them, so their loss.

I think I'm the most paranoid person here. Even though I didn't click on my ad, I emailed G every month to insure that I'm not violating any guidelines.

Add me to the list of the totally paranoid. I live in constant fear of "the email".. it's almost as if my adsense earnings are too good to be true, and i expect it to end at any moment..:(

Pfft, you can't even insult properly. It's, "If being annoying gets you banned, you'd have been banned from DP a long time ago!" As I don't annoy G, just weak-skinned noobs on DP, your theory is flawed.

I'd have thought monthly emails were a bit over the top too.

Don't be too paranoid - if you're really worried you can code a check - you get alternate ads and everyone else gets google. relies on a static ip though. I don't have one so I can't use that protection.

As for neopets. That's just daft. Ofcourse all the kids in a family will have the same IP. D'uh. we signed up for that but haven't been back. If that's the way they treat the kids then I won't be in any hurry either.

    I rest my case..

As far as emailing G every month, i'd be worried that they would zero-in on some little, minor, accidental TOS, and ban me on the spot.. I've seen posts where webmasters have emailed AdSense support asking if something was against TOS, and BOOM, they were mysteriously banned a few weeks later..

    Hello all,

I have reason to be paranoid. I just received the following letter in an email from Google Adsense and this is what it contained:

    Hello,

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s) through users of third-party programs paid or provided with other incentives to visit your site. Such programs may include, but are not limited to auto-surf, pay-to-surf, pay-to-read, or pay-to-click sites.

As a reminder, any method of generating invalid clicks or impressions is strictly prohibited by our Terms & Conditions and program policies:

    https://www.google.com/adsense/terms
    https://www.google.com/adsense/policies

If we continue to detect invalid clicks or impressions from these services on your ads, we may disable your account to protect our advertisers.

    Sincerely,

    The Google AdSense Team

    -------------------------------
P.S. I have been doing none of these things and I have took my blogs down that were in rotation at places like blogazoo.com several months ago.
