So now a mod can make an infraction?

    Let me be the first to tell you that I appreciate DigitalPoint and respect having the privalege to be able to use it. However, I'm somewhat irritated by my infractions:

    Infraction #1, I deserved, it was an accidental duplicate post. However, it was extended the day it was supposed to expire without reason.

    Infraction #2    , I love the fact that this is private, so there is no way to see what I've supposedly done wrong. I'm calling bullshit on this one because I dont have to hide post decisions behind "private" to make a rediculous infraction look rational.

    Warning #1, This was for a similar post to what I had. Unfortunately, it was months before I joined digital point and searching for a java script hack is difficult at best. I'm slightly irritated by this but atleast it wasnt an infraction. I'm more irritated by the fact my post was moved to combine it with another and thus create the said duplicate. If you want to do something productive, why not ban the phrase "Yahoo goes international" and save the rest of DP from another duplicate hoax thread.

    So whats the deal? I have nearly 2 bars of rep, positive itrader, and I generally try to help most members that arent being rediculously stupid towards others. I'm not trying to be a hard@$$ to anyone, but it seems like someone likes being one to me.

    It's just rules mate. You know now what not to do in this regard. Stick to this and move on. You have 10 infraction points before you are banned. You have only 2 to your name. Don't sweat it. They will expire.

    Exponent, The two distinct infractions types you have received are three month infractions. If you look at the start and end dates they look like three month infractions to me. Shawn can probably change the period of an infraction but peon mods can not. Those are handled via built in programming. I will check on the private infraction and send you a PM regarding what I find. When an infraction shows to be private it just means thread in which it appeared or the post itself was deleted.

    I am classifying myself as a peon mod. Some day I may become a grunt mod. ;)

    I've merged plenty of "YPN goes international" threads in my time, I'm sure the others have too. If you see some report them...

    As for the javascript gimmick, I took a small part of the script, searched and up came half a dozen threads. All merged into one. I may have missed some ... but it wasn't hard to search at all.

    A forum is about ideas and sharing ideas. You dont have to agree with me when I make a post, but you certainly shouldnt slam someone when they ask a question reguarding an infraction. Just because some of you have more comments posted or think you know everything doesnt make you a forum God. While 1k+ reputations may absorb crashing my reputation faster than Enron's stock, just realize that leaving stupid negative reputation when someone is trying to find out what is going on makes you look retarded. :mad:

    Ahh so that's what it means, thankyou.

    My only ever infraction here was a private one for "language", still miffed to this day what it was for as i don't swear. Meh water off a ducks back as it expired back in January, but see.. i knew it would get explained one day without starting a thread. :D

    The reason for the slam? People are sick of hearing the same whining and bitching about something so petty as a red mark on the personal profile of a friggin Internet forum... It's stupid....

    So my suggestion? Don't ask about, or for rep and or infractions, unless that is, you want both.
