Yes i have similar a forum of mine now has a pr 3 but the site that lost all the PR is updated at least three times a week, where as the forum is maybe added to once a week maybe twice with a member post, very strange :|
Here's my question though: if PR has dropped but traffic was not affected, and has even increased in some cases, should we just drop all our paid links or at least wrap a link condom (nofollow) on them, and try to get our PR back? But if PR has no effect on traffic, should we still care about it?
I feel anally violated myself from G also - It hurts so much when I sit down - My whole network of sites had major PR drop subpages seemed to be hit the hardest - I dont sell any links - I just buy them - Ouch - just tried to sit down again. Its not fun trying to use the computer standing up!
One of my sites did exactly the same went from pr4 down to 2 and my sites doing so much better as well, so i wouldnt worry about it, i was a bit annoyed when i noticed it, but ive let it go now lol ! Woc
Alot of sites on our network were hit too, almost all of them. I wonder if they made a penalty for interlinking on networks? EDIT: there were no excessive linking between sites, just links from all of them to our company site. Our company site was hit the hardest. It dropped from a PR4 to a PR1 although the inner pages are a PR2 and I have no idea why. We dont buy links, we dont sell links, and our site is not on unrelated pages? We just revamped it about a month ago and it only had like 12 backlinks and we had a PR4. Now because of all the social bookmarking sites, 3way exchanges, and commenting on relevant blogs, we have over 5k links and then our site drops -3? I dont get it, wish someone could tell me. Regardless, our SERPs are uneffected at this point, they even got better on a few keywords so I dont really care. I'm just curious so I dont make the same mistakes on other clients websites.
Because this what PR stands for per rectal examination where the doctor sticks a finder up your anus. (I am not joking or making this up) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=534911 By the way, I have been gang-raped by Google. This is my tally and I have not even counted those below PR3. 7 to 4 1 6 to 5 2 6 to 4 1 6 to 3 2 6 to 0 2 5 to 4 20 5 to 3 13 5 to 2 3 5 to 1 4 5 to 0 11 4 to 3 20 4 to 2 14 4 to 0 17 3 to 2 28 3 to 1 14 3 to 0 25 Total = 177 sites lost Page Rank 3 to 5 1 3 to 4 2 0 to 3 1 Only 5 sites gained page rank.
your pagerank may have dropped because some of the sites that were linking to you lost PR.... I love the title of this thread
